Tuesday June 16th

Liya slept great last night. All 3 kids slept in the same room. I am not sure she was too keen on Jack sharing a room with her but he didn't want to miss out on anything. So we pushed the twin beds together so all 3 could sleep in the same room. They slept great and no one woke up. See my 3 sleeping beauties.

All 3 kids slept great all night and no one woke up. Did I mention that Liya likes her routine. When she woke up, she wanted to brush her teeth, wash her face and get dressed. Hopefully she will rub off on the other two and they won't rub off on her.

Today Liya officially became a Losse. We went back to the registrar office to sign some paperwork. They asked us what our intention was and if we would ever abandon or abuse her. Of course we said no, signed the paperwork and it was official.

Unfortunately Liya got sick again on the car ride home. We had her take Dramamine before going and she did great on the way there. We were at the office for so long that I gave her a snack before we left the office. Bad idea... For the long ride to the orphanage we will do the Dramamine and I also have the sea sickness wrist bands.

After signing the paperwork we decided to stop on the way home and pick up lunch and take it back to the apartment. Simon ordered for us from a fresh carry out Chinese place (in other words made to order). Mike was complaining once we got home because Simon didn't order exactly what he asked for. Simon wanted us to try some new things so I let him order. Well Mike loved the food and asked if we could eat there every day. I told him the entire menu was in Chinese so I would have no idea what we ordered. See it's good to try new things :)

Simon told us that in the orphanage she takes a nap every day after lunch. Except Saturday and Sunday she gets to skip nap. She wanted to make sure she could still skip on the weekends. Mike was wondering why a 7 year old was still napping. But we decided to keep her schedule for now (Mike thinks everyday should be Saturday or Sunday once we return to the US) because she likes her routine.  Well she slept for 1 1/2 hours.

After the nap it was time to swim.  Liya told Simon she had been swimming before. But we were a little hesitant not sure if she really had. Well she did great. She put her face in right away. We brought floaties with us and she liked those. Within 1/2 hour she was swimming across the pool by herself and on her back and diving for coins with Jack. She did great!

Liya saw Taylor and I had painted nails and wanted her toe nails painted. So after her bath we painted them. (Thanks Kristin Painter for the toe nail polish!) Mike had to point out that she has feet just like me. Her second toe is bigger than the first!

We decided we needed some comfort food and hit the local pizza place. It was so yummy. Liya knew exactly what pizza was and the English word. She likes her pizza,
spaghetti and sprite....this little girl can eat like a pro. See below.  She also likes to repeat what her brother and sister say like, "Oh my gosh" and "Wow"!

After dinner we walked around a bit exploring. So many cool streets and alleys. We bought some fruit from a street vendor becsieni thought it was something I had in Vietnam called longans. However they were something different but still tasty. No one but my mom wanted to try them :(

And lastly to end the night a Liya and Taylor selfie  :)

  2. Pizza, spaghetti, Sprite--now that's a menu fit for a busy family. Sounds like she's going to be just fine! I love watching her connections with her siblings. Taylor and Jack are amazing kids. Raised well--sensitive, loving, and ready for fun! I'm addicted to your blog. You are going to have to keep writing when you get home!

  5. Liya has the feet of a ballerina! For toe shoes, it's good to have the second toe longer than the big toe. She looks like she's already connected with the family. So sweet!
